London - Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square is not only a popular place, but famous, too. Many people come here, even from other countries to see the Nelson Column, or just to have fun. Horatio Nelson was a commander in the war against the French. Trafalgar is a place in Spain where he won a very important battle. All this happened more than 200 years ago. Now he has a statue at the top of the column in the square. That statue is 5 meters tall! More than three times as tall as you. But the column is even taller (56 m), so Nelson doesn’t look that tall at all.
