4.6.13 Smartphone of Childhood

My name is Joanna. When I was 8 years old my family lived in a town, on a narrow street. My best friend lived on the other side of the street. We could greet each other from the window, waving with our hands, but we could not speak. We didn't want to shout. We didn’t have smartphones to chat, and internet to send emails. We both lived on the first floor.

But we were smart and full of ideas. I had a long piece of rope. I threw the middle of the rope to my friend’s window. She folded it around a toilet paper holder. We wrote messages on a piece of paper and attached them to the rope. Then we just pulled the rope and the messages started to travel.

We were so happy we could send these "emails" to each other. I miss those emails and my friend so much.
