3.10.12 School Holiday

School holidays are times when there are no classes in the schools and kids are free. No learning, only fun.

There are school holidays in every country, but they start and end on different dates.

In Nigeria the longest school holiday starts in mid-July and lasts for two months.
In South Africa it is only one month in December, but there are short holidays three times a year.
In Brazil the summer holiday starts at the beginning of December until the end of January.

Most of the countries, like Canada, China, Austria, Slovakia and Belgium have summer holidays in July and August and start school at the beginning of September.

In Greece and in Italy the schoolchildren are lucky. They have a long summer holiday, starting in mid-June and ending in mid-September.
In Russia the summer holiday is also three months, starting with June.
In North India it starts in mid-May to the end of June. In South India it is two months: April and May.

They are only the longest holidays. Most countries have  two or three shorter holidays in a year, too. For example winter holidays last 1-3 weeks.
