Building Blocks of Matter
Inside the atoms: protons and electrons
So why do we have different atoms? Just look at their structure to understand. The hydrogen atoms are the simplest building blocks. This is the inside of a hydrogen atom.
Atoms are made up of positive protons and negative electrons. As you know, likewise stuff hate each other and opposite attract. Just try it on a magnet: red hates red but loves blue. Also, boys usually like girls and vice versa. So an electron loves zipping around a positive proton. One proton at the centre and one electron zipping around makes up a hydrogen atom.
(Again, we are cheating. In reality protons and electrons don't wear plus and minus signs.)
