6.9 Materials: Using and Reusing
backThe family sat around the dining table, surrounded by piles of unopened parcels and forgotten knick-knacks. Lalana pulled up a video on her laptop.
“Look at this influencer, Nattha,” she said. “She used to live in a house just like ours. Clutter everywhere, always stressed. Then she decluttered and started living simply. Now she’s happier and even saving money!”
Siri looked at the screen. “Decluttered? But what about all her nice things?”
“She donated them,” Lalana replied. “Now her house is tidy, and she doesn’t spend money on things she doesn’t need. She even has less garbage!”
Pong leaned back with a smile. “And look at her bank account. Probably doesn’t have Dad’s flamingo-lamp loan payments.”
Chatri groaned. “Alright, fine. Let’s try this decluttering thing. But no promises. I’m keeping my lucky elephant collection.”
“Only if it fits the new rules,” Lalana said, holding up a notepad. “Rule 1: Keep only what’s truly useful. Rule 2: Donate what you don’t use. Rule 3: No more buying unnecessary stuff.”
Chatri and Siri exchanged another glance. This time, they both nodded.
