It was my birthday, but it didn’t start well. My mother said we didn’t have money to celebrate. No cake. No presents. Nothing. I just turned 16.

I walked home after school and was sad. What kind of birthday is it? I opened the door of our house. It was dark inside. I was surprised. Why is it dark? It is only three pm. Then fireworks lit up the room and I saw that there was a crowd in the room, all my friends, parents and grandparents were there. They started to sing the Happy birthday song to me. It was the best surprise in my life. We had cakes and everybody gave me presents. What a surprise!
