Garuda Wisnu Kencana in Bali is the tallest statue in Indonesia. The statue has a height of 75 metres and a width of 65 metres.Based on old Hindu stories, Garuda is the king of all birds. He looks like a bird, an eagle, but he can take any shape. He was born from an egg. He carries Vishnu on his back, after all he can fly very fast. The statue was finished in 2018, and it took 28 years to be built. People living on the island were against the huge statue, they didn’t want to bring even more visitors. |
