4.9.16 Tallest Statues in the World
The first ten tallest statues are all in Asia, none of them are in Europe or in America. In America the statue of Liberty is the tallest statue, but it was not built by Americans. France gave it as a present to the United States in 1886.

Most of the statues have been built after 2010. Currently the tallest statue is in India, which was finished in 2018. Until 2008 a Chinese Buddha statue was the tallest. They are not really statues, they look like skyscrapers with human shapes. You can even go inside, use the lift and fly up to the head of the statues.

Some people say it is not fair to build huge statues when the poor have no good schools and hospitals. Money is wasted, it could be spent better. Other people say big statues have a lot of visitors who pay fee to see them.
