Children games

Hide and seek

We don’t have to have toys to have fun. One of my games is Hide and seek. It was my parents’ favourite game when they were children, too. Hiding and finding is always fun.

How to play?

You need at least three players to play this. The kids try to hide in good places, like behind a tree, a curtain, a door, or under the bed. One kid closes their eyes and counts to twenty. This is the time the others can hide. When the counting is over, the kid who counted tries to find the others. The kid who is found last is the winner. Next time he or she will count and find the others.

Four square

How to play?

You need four players and a ball. Draw four squares on the ground, or just place a rope in a square shape. Each player stands in a square. Each player hits the ball only once with leg or hands and tries to send the ball to another square. If the ball touches a square twice, the player in the square loses the game and has to wait until there is only one person left.

Jump rope

This is one of the favourite games of girls. I would say, every girl has a jump rope (called skipping rope, too). Just turn the rope and jump, jump, jump.

  • Do you play hide and seek with your friends?
  • Do you know good places to hide?
  • Do you think Four square is a difficult game to play?
  • How many times can you jump with a jump rope?
  • Who can jump longer? You or your friends?
