Toys, Past and Present

The other day I went to the attic and found a wooden box, full of old toys. I asked my mother about it. She says it belonged to her mother.

I could not believe it. My granny playing? She is always serious. My mom smiled and told me, “believe or not, she was also a child once, and she liked playing with toys”.

Her toys were very different from my toys. I have a smartphone and Barbie dolls. My dolls are made of plastic.

She had animals, building blocks, small pots, little china cups and plates and beautifully dressed dolls. The heads of her dolls are made of china.

She also had a black board in the box. In the old times children didn’t use paper to draw. They used boards and they cleaned them with a cloth after each drawing or writing.
