Beauties around the World

This boy (yes, he is a boy!) is seen as handsome in Africa, in some places. He wears heavy makeup, necklaces and earrings.
In some places of Thailand, girls put rings around their neck. They are also called giraffe women, because their neck is long. The longer their neck, the more beautiful they are. Do you think so?
In some places in Africa, girls put wooden plates into their lower lips. They are seen as beautiful. The bigger the plate, the more beautiful the girl is.
A community is India is famous for their flowers on their heads. Even old people wear fresh flowers on their hats.
In a community in Africa the big tummy is the most beautiful. The bigger the tummy, the more handsome the boy is. Boys with big tummy can find wives easily.
In another community in India, girls put black rings into their nose, and have a tattoo in the middle of the face, down under their lips. Is this their way to look beautiful? No. They don't want to be beautiful.

In the old times men from other parts of the country often came and took the girls because they were very beautiful. The girls didn't like it, and they made themselves ugly with the tattoo and the black rings.
