Chapter 8

The Doctor found hundreds of thousands of ill monkeys: gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees, baboons, and others. First he separated the ill ones from the healthy ones. Then he vaccinated the healthy monkeys. The monkeys kept coming to see him for 3 days. Then he built a big house for a hospital, with beds. But there were not enough healthy monkeys to be nurses, so he called all the other animals: lions, leopards, antelopes.

The lion king didn’t want to help at once. He said, why would he, as a king, nurse a lot of dirty monkeys? The doctor replied:

“They are not dirty, they all had a bath this morning. Time might come when you need my help.”

And it happened very soon. When the lion went home, he found out that one of his kids felt unwell. His wife was angry that the king refused to help, and sent him back to the doctor. Now the King offered his help. This is how the animals ended up working as nurses in the doctor’s hospital.
