Chapter 6 - part 2

John found himself in a prison. There was only a small window, high up. In the evening the parrot flew through the window and went straight to the palace. The king was in bed, asleep. The parrot went under the bed and coughed. The king woke up and asked ‘Who is that?’

The parrot started to talk in John’s voice: ‘ I am Doctor Dolittle. You cannot see me. I can make people ill. Send your men to the prison and let me go with my animals or you will have a serious illness by the morning.’

The king was very much scared, jumped out of the bed and told his men to open the prison door.
