Chapter 2 - Part 1

One of his last patients suggested that he should become an animal doctor. The parrot agreed. John said, there are too many animal doctors outside, nobody would pay him to treat their pets. But the parrot said that he would be the only animal doctor who can speak with animals. He knew that parrots can talk but other animals? The parrot said that in fact she speaks two languages: a people's language and an animal language. The doctor was very much surprised and wanted to learn the animal language immediately. The parrot was a good teacher and John learnt a lot by teatime.

His dog came into the room and the parrot said: ‘Can you see what he is saying?’

‘He is not saying anything now’, John said. ‘ His mouth is closed’.

'Animals don’t always speak with their mouths. They can talk with ears, with tails, with their body. They just don’t want to make noise.'
