Chapter 11

The group reached the king’s land again. By mistake they walked into the king’s garden, where they were caught again.

The King was happy, and said, “this time you won’t escape from my prison.” People, put three locks on the door.”

However, the monkey and the parrot were not in the  group. They hid in a tree, just in time.

They were thinking hard about what to do, then the king’s son, Prince Bumpo, turned up in the garden. He sat down under a tree and started to read a book. He looked very sad. After some reading he put down the book and said, “I wish I was a white prince…”.

The parrot started to talk to him in a little girl’s voice,

“Bumpo, someone could turn you into a white prince.”

“Oh, tell me more’, " cried Bumpo, “who can turn me white?”

The parrot said, “There is a white doctor in your father’s prison. He is a world-famous doctor. Go to him, and he will turn you white.”
