I know when my mother was born, she was born in May. But I don't know about my father's birthday.
My sister asked me, ‘Do you know about the birthday party for our father? You have to give money for that. Do you know what it costs? The cake is very expensive’. I said, ‘No, I don't know, and I have no money.’ ‘Give me money or you cannot go to the party’, she said. We were sitting in the kitchen, talking about the birthday. Then my father came in. My sister put her finger to her lips and said ‘let’s not talk about it’. ‘Hi kids’, he said, ‘my birthday is this Saturday. What about going for a hike? I don’t like parties.’ ‘Dad, do you want to eat cake when you hike?’, asked my sister. ‘Oh, I don’t like cakes’, said my father. I laughed. ‘Expensive cake?’ ‘I don’t know what you are talking about’, said my father. My sister turned red. ‘I didn’t know you don’t like cakes’, she said. |
