As a keen environmentalist I strictly follow the holy R trinity: recycle, reuse, reduce. It happens that I live from one suitcase for 6 years, nothing is wrong with it. I rediscover my clothes after 20 years and my friends praise my retro style. So obviously there must be an area where I break loose, namely in the digital domain. After hoarding a bloated library of printed books I gave up and I have my books in the clouds. Thousands, safe and sound, for the eternity and always with me. Size of shelves and suitcases don't matter anymore.
During my working periods, producing books, DVDs, then online materials, a lot of leftover has accumulated in the form of fragments of writings, photos, images, graphics, even animations, mainly with education-related content (hehe, I am a multitalented girl---or someone who likes trying out herself in everything, but not exactly at a professional level). I am also a keen photographer. I travel a lot, moderately lot, anyway, "lot" is subjective, and take photos at every possible occassion.
On the top of it, after my passion for collections became public, my friends, relatives and business partners also contributed to my assets. As we know, many a little makes a mickle, I got galvanized and even bought a bunch of vintage images and edited to make them enjoyable. I love them, like stamp collectors are devoted to their precious pieces.
But having a vast collection just for myself doesn't make much sense. As recycling is in my blood, after hoarding over 60 thousands items I am happy to use PL as a platform to share. Here we are: you can use any of the images through the Common library. Of course, not all the images are published yet, it takes time. We continuously upload new images, photos and illustrations, all are edited and tagged. Just type the keyword what you want, and you will get (hopefully) a list of hits. I don't state they have artistic value, though some have, sure. We don't compete with shutterstock, we don't suggest an immaculate world. We suggest a realistic world through our illustrations. You can resize the images, as they are reasonably large. You will find a lot of isolated (background removed) images, too. They are very useful in education, as they don't contain any distracting elements.
Our photos don't depict people without their permission, unless they are artists, performing publicly. To bridge the problem we use a combination of photos and illustrations for heads.
No more words, go and try. Give your content, and find illustration for them. You are free to use any of the images here, making the content creation really easy and fast. However if you use them outside PL, please credit them to our site with a link.
