2.10 Personal information
backHe is my father and she is my mother. My father is British, my mother is Indian. They live in London. They married 20 years ago. My father went to work in Delhi. He saw my mother in the market. He liked her very much. Next day he went to the market, but didn't see her. He went to the market on the third day, fourth day, every day. He never saw her again there.
One day his friend took him to a school. My mother worked there. My father saw her and smiled. He was very happy. He went to my mother, greeted her and said, I want to marry you. My mother smiled, too. She didn't speak English. She knew only one word in English: yes. So she said, yes.
It was 20 years ago. My father still gives my mother a kiss every morning. Indians don't kiss each other. My mother doesn't give him a kiss. My father doesn't mind. He knows that my mom loves him without kisses.
